What do you get the person in your life who has everything? If you’re me, it’s likely a voucher.

But when it comes to vouchers, there’s always the debate of where to get a voucher for.

I know I’ve got people on my Christmas list who’ll be getting specific restaurant vouchers, or at least they would have, until this landed on my desk.

In a partnership between Fáilte Ireland and the Restaurants Association of Ireland, there’s a new gift voucher in town – the RAI Gift Voucher. Think of it as a One4All voucher, but for restaurants.

The idea being that you can use the voucher in participating RAI member restaurants, cafés, gastropubs and hotel restaurants.

A look back at those on the Irish Restaurant Awards winners lists might give you some indication of where you could dine.

The voucher scheme is being launched this week (and is out now) as part of the overall Taste the Island campaign which has been running for last number of months.

“There are already some fantastic establishments signed up which will be sure to light up anyone’s Christmas. There is a potential for all 2,100 RAI members to sign up and take part in this voucher, offering a wide variety of cuisines and tastes across the country”, says the RAI’s Adrian Cummins.

Among those accepting vouchers are The Old Bake House Restaurant, Cafe West, Salamanca, Holy Smoke, The Wild Geese, Lena Moran Cookery School, The Chophouse, House Limerick , La Cote, Hartes of Kildare and loads more.

The RAI Gift Voucher is available to buy online, delivered straight to your inbox at https://voucher.rai.ie
