Neven’s Irish Seafood Trails has been going down a storm.
It’s a tightly-packed half hour on RTÉ that’s been shining a spotlight on all things seafood.
Working its way along the Irish coast with Neven Maguire, the show is close to finishing up with stops still to be made in Galway, Dublin and Kilkenny.
Tonight, it’s all about the kingdom and finding out what’s happening in Kerry.
Irish Seafood Trails: Episode 5
Food-wise this week we get a look at Kerry Fish at Renard Point.
Liam Quinlan’s family established their fishing business in 1963 and their organic salmon smokery features.
One of the featured chefs this time out is EJ O’Neill at O’Neill’s The Point. Haka ala Romana is a recipe passed from Spanish trawlermen to EJ’s grandfather, now hitting the menu.
O’Neill’s is currently closed for their winter break, re-opening for the new season in mid March.
Chef Henry Hunt from Smuggler’s Inn in Waterville also featured, cooking up the perfect Black Sole.
Kick off is 8.30pm this evening on RTÉ with catchup on the Player.
