Gold Medal Awards: Kilkenny hotels and eateries chasing top honours this Tuesday

Kilkenny hotels are to the fore this coming Tuesday as part of the 2023 Gold Medal Awards.

Gold Medal Awards 2023

The 2023 Virgin Media Business Gold Medal Awards are taking place this coming Tuesday, the 34th running of the annual event.

Recognising the best in hospitality and catering across Ireland, the awards shine a spotlight on hotels, restaurants, guest houses, spa and leisure facilities, event caterers and more – all the teams and individuals that work to achieve the highest standard of product and service in the industry.

Over 700 entries were submitted for the 2023 awards (the finals of which are this week), with a number of Kilkenny businesses among them including five-star duo Lyrath Estate and Mount Juliet Estate, city centre hotels Langton’s, Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel and Pembroke Kilkenny along with Newpark hotel. There are also individual chef nominations for Lyrath’s Ben Davis, Mount Juliet’s Andy Nolan and Pembroke’s Ken Harker.

Here’s a look at the Kilkenny nominees.

  • Ireland’s Hotel Casual Dining Experience: Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel
  • Ireland’s Menu Provenance Award: Pembroke Kilkenny
  • Ireland’s Guest Experience: Mount Juliet Estate
  • Ireland’s Afternoon Tea Hotel: Langton’s
  • Ireland’s Small Wedding Hotel (<100): Langton’s Ireland’s
  • Grand Wedding Hotel (>100): Mount Juliet Estate, Newpark Hotel
  • Ireland’s Castle & Heritage Wedding Experience: Lyrath Estate
  • Ireland’s Four Star Resort: Newpark Hotel
  • Ireland’s Family Friendly Hotel: Newpark Hotel
