Ireland’s collection of Michelin star restaurants for 2019 has been revealed.

The Oscars of the food world were held in London on Monday afternoon with the event also streamed on Facebook.
All in all, 21 restaurants received stars for the first time – three of those in Ireland. Three restaurants jumped to 2 stars, all in the UK.
The three Cork recipients are the Japanese restaurant Ichigo Ichie in Cork City Centre and two West Cork village restaurants – Mews in Baltimore and Chestnut in nearby Ballydehob.
In Northern Ireland, two Belfast restaurants – Eipic (Howard Street) and Ox (Oxford Street) – have also retained their Michelin Star status.

Update: Heron & Grey
** Heron & Grey has rebranded to Liath, effective March 2019. They close on 26 January, start taking bookings on 1 February and re-open on 1 March. Remaining in the guide as Heron & Grey, it is understood the restaurant will be re-assessed as a newcomer for the 2020 edition.
