The 2018 Irish Curry Awards are in full swing an judging is now underway.
Having spoken to Paul O’Connor previously about the awards, I’m delighted to be involved this year as a judge.
The award winners themselves won’t be revealed until 23 October at a gala event in Dublin.
With tens of thousands of nominations, and hundreds of restaurants around the country involved, there’s plenty of work to do.
Delighted to have @kenonfood on board as a judge for Carlow @irishcurryaward He knows his curries!

Judges hitting the road
Over the next three weeks or so, there’s a whole army of people with broad backgrounds in food hitting the roads around the country.
I’ll be checking out some of the Leinster nominees, particularly around Carlow and Kilkenny.
Both counties did very well last year.
Royal Spice (Kilkenny) took home the silver for Best Chef; Spice Infusion (Thomastown, Kilkenny) took home the silver for Best Front of House and Best Newcomer while The Curry Garden in Carlow was the overall winner for Best Young Chef and Best Neighbourhood Restaurant.
Discussed in the podcast, the standard on both sides of the house continues to rise but I’m looking forward to the challenge and getting to know more of the restaurants around Leinster.
