Update: 6 January 4pm – Scroll for Monday closures
Heavy snowfall hit Kilkenny on Sunday and at the time of writing (heading towards 8pm), it’s still coming down, and it’s spelling bad news for a number of local food businesses.
While roads and paths are being gritted by local authorities, the cold weather, snow and freezing conditions into Sunday night have taken their toll on restaurants, cafés and shops in the city and county.
Sunday’s night’s freezing temperatures are likely to compound matters, a number of restaurants and cafés in Kilkenny shutting up shop early today (Sunday) with more confirming a full closure on Monday.
With many of us now planning for school closures and how to get to the office on Monday morning, KCLR have a growing list of closures for both Kilkenny and Carlow here.
