It’s all go in Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny this month.

The ever-popular Mountain View markets look set to make a return on St. Patrick’s Day – 17 March if you live under a rock – and they’re looking for new traders for the 2024 season.

Packing street food delights, unique and cool crafts, talented traders and all the good vibes you need, the Mountain View market has become a real destination market in the past year. Sure, you’ll need a car or a bike to get there, but once you’ve parked on what was (I think) the first fairway of the old Mountain View golf course setup, you’re into a market space unlike any other in the country, overlooking a whole chunk of rural Kilkenny.

We’ve had some great afternoons out at Mountain View (plus the occasional broadcast or two), but with the 2024 season upon us, applications are open here for traders interested in taking up residence at the south Kilkenny Sunday market. Granted, it’s not just anyone they’re after, as the website suggests.

“We’re always on the lookout for independent traders who are passionate about producing quality food and artisanal products in a sustainable way. At the moment we’re looking for traders offering something new, especially products not currently available at the Mountain View Market. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to progress applications for products we already have plenty of.”
