Burger Fest 2019 is underway.
The second annual celebration of all things burger runs today until 3 February with the hunt for Ireland’s best burger started.
Ballymaloe Foods are backing the competition this year with entry having opened to burger joints all across the land.
Holy Smoke have a donut burger that sounds unreal. Coqbull Limerick have a Six Stack Burger Challenge (six 8oz bacon bulls with fries – if you can do it under 10.32 mins, you’re a winner!)
If anything, it’s an encouragement to get out at the end of January and get into some good burgers.
Burger Fest 2019 Venues
Last year saw the coveted Golden Burger (think Glitter Ball, but for burgers) head to Son of a Bun in Cork.
The biggest tranche of venues can be found in Cork, including last year’s winner Son of a Bun. After that you’ll find participating eateries in Carlow, Down, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Navan, Roscommon, Wexford and Wicklow.
If you’ve tips for an unreal burger, I’m all ears!
