Now, Kilkenny County Council have issued a call for proposals of interest for the south Kilkenny site.

Identified as a vacant site, the call seeks expressions of interest for the premises, for use by a community group or groups, voluntary organisations or third parties focused on running and managing a community café/shop or social enterprise.
Forms are available via KilkennyCoCo.ie or for more information, Catherine Byrne Murphy at Kilkenny County Council can be contacted on 056 7764115.
The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 25 April.
Similar café’s in Windgap, Freshford and Muckalee continue to go from strength to strength. So if you’ve ever thought about getting into the community café space, now’s your chance.
