There were few surprises in the best restaurant winners – Cork’s Ichigo Ichie, Wild Honey Inn (Lisdoonvarna) and The Tannery (Dungarvan) among the elite.

Having bagged a Michael star last Autumn, Mews Restaurant’s Ahmet Dede was named Cork’s best chef, while Wade Murphy picked up the same for 1826 Adare in Limerick.

There was also a special regional award for Munster’s Local Food Hero – that award going to Chad Byrne of Chef Collab in Killarney.

The Connaught winners will be announced in the fourth and final regional event this coming Tuesday.
