As I digest the first espresso of the working week, I ponder ‘what’s the point of having a blog and podcast if there isn’t a mailing list to go along with it’?

Well, not that I’m pondering much, but as I continue to get all my content ducks in a row for 2024, I’ve kicked off the Ken On Food Substack mail out, aptly named Ken On Food which has started with a more reader-friendly version of Sunday’s edition of Food In 5 Minutes and will do so in time for every Sunday morning, complete with photos and extra content you won’t find in the podcast or on the blog.

Maybe it gets a more relevant name, but right now, you’ll be able to sign up for free at kenonfood.substack.com and, eventually, as part of the articles on the blog here.

While Substack offers creators the chance to paywall content, newsletters, podcast content etc., I’ve got no intention to doing just that. Instead, I see it as a handy way to keep in touch via email with readers who don’t do the Facebook / Twitter (X) / Instagram thing and would rather have a digest once a week instead of being bombarded by book reviews, restaurant notes, coffee plans and everything else set to come by way of the blog over the coming weeks and months.

So, if you like your food updates delivered by email, with just one five minute read a week winging its way to your inbox, head on over here and subscribe for free today.
