CÁÍS, the Association of Irish Farmhouse Cheesemakers, have announced their 2024 awards will take place this April.
The biennial event, launched in 2010 is hitting its tenth edition this year, serving “to elevate Irish cheese both at home and abroad while celebrating the achievements of Irish farmhouse cheesemakers”.
Judging for this year’s awards has been slated for March in Dublin with a panel of experienced Irish and international judges, before the awards ceremony itself which takes place this year in the surrounds of Kilshane House, Co. Tipperary. MC for the event, taking place on Thursday 25 April, is Newtalk’s Down To Business presenter Bobby Kerr.
Entries are now open to all cheese producers across the 32 counties with awards spread across 18 diverse classes.
Among its members, you’ll find Elizabeth Bradley’s Carlow Farmhouse Cheese, Schull’s Gubbeen, Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese from Loughrea (Galway), Velvet Cloud in Claremorris (Mayo) and lots more.
